Don’t get fooled by its rich and deep nose of Bayonne ham, dried cranberry, bruised strawberry, salty and baking spices, Nouvelle Vague Rouge is a light, fresh and balanced wine that will take you instantly in the French Pyrénées. On the palate, the attack is straight on fresh cranberry and tobacco leaves. Then the tannins are gently getting on stage to give the wine a delicate mouthfeel while not drying your entire mouth like some young reds can sometimes. The finish reveals a long notes of red fruits which are enhanced by a zing of salt. Imagine a pepperoni pizza, BBQ chicken or a charcuterie plate with this 💦💦💦
Drink right after the opening but the wine will definitely be more expressive after 5 minutes in the glass. Last note. This wine is a great case study for students who want to break a Carignan down 🎓
