If you know orange wine 🍊, you have already tried wines that are either fruit 💣 or sour and very acidic wines 😆. Forest Punk is different. It truly is an orange wine that is accessible to all 🙌.
It tastes like ripe calvados, pear, honey with the soothing flavour of chamomile. The mouthfeel is pure silk, gentle acidity, long finish. It could be defined as a middle ground between orange wine and white wine, although both are technically, well, white wines 😅
Besides its taste, this wine is interesting from multiple aspects.
It is definitely an orange wine as it has undergone 3 months maceration but it doesn't look orange at all.
It is coming from a rather traditional region called Vouvray and this is the MOST orange wine from Vouvray. To my knowledge, only one other winemaker is doing orange wine in Vouvray. Fabien Brutout, who produces a 3 weeks skin macerated orange wine. Delicious as well but definitely on the lighter side.
