Historically, the first cuvée of Les Clos Perdus. Grenache, Carignan et Mourvèdre. A very attractive nose with dark fruit, lots of plums, tabac and a pleasant rustic character. Ripe yet elegant on the palate. Ripe blackberries and dark cherry combine and integrate with the soft tannins and acidity. The tannins are outstanding in a way that they make your tongue and the top of your mouth match perfectly.
Fun fact, the first cuvée was called 101 and then 111, 121 etc...

Vintage:
Lower than average rain in spring was followed by a dry summer, causing some hydric stress during June. A little rain in July and August helped move the vines towards
maturity. Vintage started late August and continued to late September. Some heavy rain in the middle of September along with long periods of the humid sea wind increased disease pressure. Rigorous selection on vineyard during picking to insure only clean and heathy fruit entered the winery. Slow and long ferments due to low
nitrogen content in the juice has produced some complex and intriguing wines.
