Condrieu 2021

Fantastic story for fantastic wine. This Condrieu is named after a waterfall that crosses Simon's vineyard. "Le Saut de Lorette" stands for "Lorette's jump" and tells the story of a young woman who has chosen death instead of attending an arranged marriage with a local noble. Hence the design of the label produced by Eugénie Bergeon. Like the story, this wine is vertiginous with a finish that lasts longer than a minute.
Le Saut de Lorette is the wine that will put Condrieu back on your map. Fresh, tendu, mineral with a heavenly silky texture.
About 800 bottles were produced in 2021.

Soils: Granit & Schists. One of the only vineyards to have schists in Condrieu which gives it its outstanding freshness for Condrieu. 350m of altitude.
Manual harvest. Spontaneous fermentation. No added sulfites. No herbicides, no mineral fertilisation, no pesticides. Direct press. 2 years of elevage in barriques on the lees. 1 year of ageing in bottle.  Bottled without fining and filtration.
