If you are a Jura lover as I am, I’m sure you had your fair share of Jura wines but this is different and you’ll notice it from the very first sip.
While their wines have that depth, that slight wilderness and that vivacious acidity that Jura’s wines have, Aurélie & Julien’s wines are delivering a very gentle, pure and polished range.
Take this Pinot Noir, Sur la Côte, which opens on a bright red cherries 🍒 and preserved strawberries, Pepsi’s cinnamon, Cocoa and autumn wet leaves 🍁. You got it, that contrast of fruit and wilderness is the house signature 🧨
The palate will lift you up, including your eyebrows. While the nose was delicate, the first sip is full of tension. It’s a horn of plenty with red and black fruits of all sorts which make your pupils go WoW. This sudden wave of energy is followed by a very silky and slightly oily texture. Then the Jura’s typicity takes over to add another layer of complexity. Clove. Sweet pepper 🌶. Long spicy finish on black pepper.
It might be the first time you hear about La Grapp’A, but surely not the last.
