Coming from the crate of Syrah, the Northern Rhône Valley, this Saint Joseph is all you can expect from this renown appellation. An iron hand in a velvet glove. A large frame, a delicate texture, Simon's style. Black fruits, black olives, cooking herbs, smoky and peppery.
More and more people are coming to Cocorico for wines they can age in their wine fridge. This is one. Drink it now decanted or wait if you can resist 😅.
About 668 bottles were produced in 2022.

Tech facts: 

Soils: Granit soils, exposed South, 400m altitude, the highest vineyard of the whole appellation. Manual harvest. Spontaneous fermentation. No added sulfites. No herbicides, no mineral fertilisation, no pesticides. Whole bunches. Direct press. 2 years of elevage in barriques (5 to 10 years old). 1 year of ageing in bottle.  Bottled without fining and filtration.
