Colombard might be a stranger to you and yet it is nothing else bu the offspring of the famous Chenin Blanc! Used to make Cognac in Gascony, this variety can also produce delicious wine when it grows in poor soils.
What a nose, it feels like opening a box of liquorice allsorts 🇬🇧 which would have guava, yellow apple and vanilla flavoured sweets. The first sip gives generous golden apple and kiwi juice, vanilla, butter with a zest of lemon. Long finish that keeps on giving.
For pairing, think sunny day, terrasse and some crispy gossips.
